Public bus services (Route R-2 and ADO coaches) connect the airport terminals to the Hotel Zone and downtown Cancún city centre in around 20–30 minutes, with ADO operating services throughout the day and into the late evening.

Within Cancún, the public bus network (locally called 'camiones') runs frequently along Boulevard Kukulcán in the Hotel Zone and into downtown, with a flat fare of around 14–15 MXN per journey — the most affordable option for visitors. Taxis are widely available but unmetered; agree a fare before boarding, as trips between the Hotel Zone and downtown typically cost 180–300 MXN. Uber operates in Cancún and is generally cheaper and more transparent on pricing than street taxis.
